As a preview of the type of classes you might expect, we’re sharing some of our favorite moments from past year’s intensives:

This year’s camp will be led by Broadway and film star Erin Dilly, best known for her portrayal of Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. WICKED Ways to Be A Winner

WICKED fans are testing their luck by entering their names into a special ticket lottery. The day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats is being held for every performance through the end of the engagement on March 17. Winners have the opportunity to purchase orchestra seats for just $25.

On opening night, we saw friends and families gather around the Segerstrom Hall Box Office, eagerly waiting for their names to be called. Enjoy a few snapshots of our excited fans!

Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, WICKED fans can come to the Segerstrom Center box office and have their names placed in a lottery drum. Thirty minutes later, winning names are drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats that can be purchased for $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a purchase limit of two tickets per person. There's Nothing Better Than a Happy Ending!

Mexico’s Marionetas de la Esquina will bring its production of Sleeping Beauty to the Center April 20 and 21. This will be the West Coast premiere of their Sleeping Beauty. It was unveiled at the Kennedy Center this week, and the Free Lance-Star said, “Even families who are familiar with the traditional story of Sleeping Beauty will have a delightful surprise …. [Amaranta] Leyva combines her formal training in literature with decades of experience with puppets onstage to weave a tale with humor, whimsy and a message that will resonate with both children and their parents.”

Marionetas is being presented as part of the Center’s yearly Family Series.

WAR HORSE CAST WELCOMES LOS AMIGOS HS

Nothing inspires dreamers more than meeting those who are living theirs. Ms. Rubin’s drama class at Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley met a number of performers from the Broadway show War Horse who were living their dreams at Segerstrom Center the past two weeks. On Friday, February 1, the class attended a performance and met several cast members afterwards in Founders Hall. The aspiring young actors had the opportunity to quiz their new mentors about the show and their careers.

Founders Hall is a “black box” rehearsal space – a traditional room in all theaters where rehearsals usually take place. As Ms. Rubin commented, “For them, this is the first time they’ve actually been in a black box – now they know they really exist and what they look like!” If luck holds, some of her students may end up spending a lot of time in similar rooms during the course of their careers.
